Separation rollers

We will find the needle in the haystack for you.

Separation rollers, also called magnetic or separating rollers, are ideal for removing magnetic parts from conveyed material. They enable an uninterrupted flow of material and operate without power, which means they are fail-safe, low-maintenance, sustainable and do not incur any follow-up costs. Separation rollers can be flexibly integrated into an existing process.

Application area

Separation rollers are suitable where magnetic parts have to be sorted out in the running process or other goods have to be cleaned from magnetic parts. For this purpose, they are ideally mounted above or below conveyor belts, chutes, vibrating tables and filling hoppers.

Versions

In the case of separation rollers, a distinction must be made between the area of application and the type of material to be separated. Tridelta manufactures three types of separation rolls: low field separation rolls, medium field separation rolls and high field separation rolls.

Weak field separation rollers

  • magnetic flux density: up to 200 mT
  • classic application: iron ore sorting, metal sorting, pre-separator, etc.
  • Material covered: iron parts with a unit weight of more than 20 g, ores with varying iron content

Center field separation rollers

  • magnetic flux density: 200 mT – 650 mT
  • classic application: sorting of complex ores, crushed material, regrind, etc.
  • Material covered: ferrous parts with a unit weight above 0.5 g

Strong field rollers

  • magnetic flux density: 650 mT – 1000 mT
  • classic application: sorting of fine bulk materials with paramagnetic components, cleaning of viscous liquids such as cooling lubricants and oils, etc.
  • Detected material: ferrous parts up to a size of 50 µm

Functionality

Permanent magnetic separation rolls consist of a fixed magnet system. This has, in addition to a pronounced magnetic, a non-magnetic zone. A stainless steel jacket rotates around this system, to which driver bars are attached. Magnetic material is guided out by the driver bars up to the non-magnetic area, whereas non-magnetic material is not attracted by the magnetic system and falls off the roller unhindered.

Permanent magnetic separation rolls are offered by Tridelta as standard in diameters of 200, 318 and 400 mm and in lengths of 200 – 2000 mm. When designing the required diameter or width, our technicians and engineers will support you responsibly….

When it comes to developing and implementing your customer-specific solutions, you will find a flexible team that is ready to talk to you. This concerns special designs for liquids and dimensions beyond the standard rolls. Designs as head drums for installation in conveyor belts can also be realized.
