They work without contact, wear and maintenance and have an almost unlimited lifespan under normal conditions.
Permanent magnetic couplings are used if an absolute separation of drive and downforce must be made or parts must be screwed on with a firmly defined torque.

There are three basic types of magnetic couplings:

Synchronous couplings as forehead hubs, central rotary clutches or axial pushing couplings
Hysteresis couplings
Vertebral current couplings
