Permanently excited hysteresis brake
Braking torque without mechanical contact
Advantages/Properties
- Shaft length and diameter can be manufactured exactly according to your specifications
- Different shaft diameters and wavelengths can be manufactured on request
- Carrying holders or also frame racks are available according to specification.
- Built-in ball bearings for sufficient load bearing on the pick-up shaft
- the precise torque adjustment always guarantees the best repeatability, precisely ground magnets ensure frictionless movement and thus a long service life
Field of application Permanent-excited hysteresis brake
The braking torque is transmitted without mechanical contact by a permanent magnetic field. By changing the angle of the pole superposition, the magnetic flux is continuously adjustable. The maximum torque is achieved by opposing equal poles so that the maximum magnetic field acts on the hysteresis disk. The minimum torque results when unequal poles face each other, in which case the lowest magnetic field acts on the hysteresis disk.
The brake is used for continuous materials where a torque must be present even at speeds close to 0 rpm.
To adjust the brake, the clamping screw(s) is/are loosened and the two housing parts are turned against each other until the desired value for the torque is reached. The 0% position is the minimum value for the torque, the maximum value is reached at 100%.
Product description
Structure
A view of the hysteresis brake shows that the left and right brake sides essentially consist of the permanent-magnet exciter parts. The poles of the permanent magnets are arranged on the face side. Between the magnetic poles, separated from them by the working air gap, is the disk made of hysteresis material.
Maintenance
Due to the contactless mode of operation, the hysteresis brake is not subject to wear. Under the permissible operating conditions and in compliance with the rules of technology, only the bearings are limited in service life.
